Meals From The Masters has grown into a national caliber event raising over $550,000 last year. In fact, over the past nine years Meals From The Masters - together with the various affiliated events including Evening With The Masters, Wines From The Masters and the Celebrity Chefs’ Beach Brunch - have collectively raised over $3.6 million for Meals On Wheels in Delaware.
In 2006, we added the Cellar Masters’ Wine Auction as a major component of the Meals From The Masters weekend. It is an integral part of Evening With The Masters on Friday, April 18, 2008 at the Chase Center on the Riverfront.
In 2006, “Painted Pig”, a remarqued bottle by legendary American artist, Jamie Wyeth, sold for $7,800. Last year we had a “Battle of the Brandywine” as reknown artist, George A. “Frolic” Weymouth challenged a second bottle donated by Jamie Wyeth with an original bottle of his own. The Weymouth bottle sold for $2,035 and the Wyeth for $3,500.
This year we have internationally acclaimed artist, Peter Sculthorpe, who has painted this 8” x 10” painting in oil, just for the Cellar Masters’ Wine Auction. This lot will include the framed original artwork as well as a custom wine label crafted from the original art on a magnum bottle of 2002 Merican Wine from Chaddsford Winery.
You are invited to join the Cellar Masters listed at the bottom of this page by becoming a Cellar Master for the Cellar Masters’ Wine Auction by donating wine. If you contribute:
All tickets are to the Cellar Masters’ Wine Auction and all the festivities at Evening With The Masters.
You can reach any of these retail values by contributing either one or two special bottles or you are invited to assemble a case or two of interesting bottles aggregating to the total retail value of the level with which you want to be associated. Then use your tickets to bring friends and colleagues to this event!
All wine donors at the above levels will be acknowledged in a published list depending on date of commitment. If the attached form is received by March 30th you will receive recognition in the Cellar Masters’ Wine Auction Catalogue handed out Friday, April 18th and in the Commemorative Cookbook given to all guests at the Chefs’ Brunch if the form is received by March 15th. Subsequent donations will be recognized in an addendum to the Wine Auction Catalogue. Your contribution of wines are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. You will receive a letter from Meals On Wheels Delaware acknowledging your gift and its fair market value.
